Challenge

Our entertainment client wanted to understand the critical trends and shifts shaping the future of content discovery to inform their overall strategic planning and product- and feature-level decisions for a new Web 3 product.

Outcomes

A detailed foresight report, AI-powered signals repository, and internal and external workshops to turn findings into concrete product decisions and concept ideas for future use.

Role

I led strategy and research, with support from a UX Researcher and Chief Strategy Officer.

Process

I collected signals across STEEPV categories and developed an AI-powered database in Notion, which pulled keywords and quantitative data to assist with analysis and writing across categories. This approach enabled us to build a base of understanding we could refer back to on future projects, jumpstarting the process across other categories and emerging technologies we work with.

The signal repository included keywords and tags

Concept Development

I used initial findings and categories to develop an internal workshop with our team to develop concepts, features, and experiences as product concepts we’d bring to the client in a workshop.

Output

A foresight report outlining a landscape and historical overview; five key areas to consider with supporting evidence; recommendations across strategy, content, and features.

Turning Insights into Visions

We also outlined thought-starter recommendations and developed future concepts to bring the recommendations and ideas to life.

Internal and External Workshops

I developed a two-hour workshop to lead at Soho House, giving creators and other future-curious folks a chance to learn about the future, talk about their concerns and interests, and imagine content experience concepts that reflected their visions, values, and hopes.
